PARCHMENT STORIES

Chapter 1: The scrolls under the tree.

Deep in the forest, where the trees whispered ancient secrets and the sun could barely filter through the dense leaves, a group of friends ventured out on an excursion. Between laughter and talk, they explored paths that had barely been touched by the passage of man.

In the midst of their exploration, they stumbled upon a majestic tree, whose roots intertwined with the earth like wooden snakes. One of the friends, named Elena, felt a strange attraction to that ancient tree and approached to examine it more closely.

As she approached, Elena noticed a flash of silver shining faintly between the cracks in the floor. Carefully, she began to unearth what turned out to be a box of a metal she had never seen before, adorned with intricate engravings and covered in moss and dirt that had apparently accumulated for a long time.

The box had on the outside what looked like a keyboard because it collapsed when a little pressure was applied. Upon cleaning better, it was noticed that said keyboard had the alphabet and even a button without letters.

She began to press the buttons, but she was amazed to see that nothing happened.

Upon examining the box and turning it over and cleaning off the dirt and moss, one notices an inscription that appeared to be in Latin:

“Intus me invenies locum sacrum;
Ubi solus summus sacerdos intrare potest, hoc probatur.
Aulaea mea et parietes fervore muniunt;
Sanctum sanctorum, ubi habitat Dominus. Ego est?

The box could not be opened and they decided to return to Elena's house. They cleaned the box very well and tried to open it, using every tool they could find, without success. All the friends agreed not to tell anyone about what they found.

"John suggested, 'Let's put the inscription into Google Translate and see what language it's written in.'"

They turned on the computer, opened Google Translate and…
