TAG QUESTIONS

Tag questions are used to confirm information we have. To formulate a tag question, we must take into account whether the sentence is affirmative or negative, since in

1) Affirmative case, the tag question have the structure: auxiliary + not + subject?

2) Negative case, the tag question have the structure: auxiliary + subject?

Examples:

1) She always gets up at 8 in the morning, doesn't she?
2) We didn't go to university last year, did we?
3) Carlos is running the marathon for children with cancer, isn't he?
4) You and Pedro weren't dancing salsa at the party last night, were you?
5) The children will do their homework after they get home from school, won't they?
6) We have been studying hard these last few days, haven't we?
7) They haven't been going to the gym lately, have they?

Tag questions can be real questions or just questions for which confirmation is only expected.

In the case in which it is a real question, the voice rises when asking the question, and in the case in which we only wait for confirmation, the voice falls.
